The Architecture of Nature: A Graphite Study Workshop
Flora and Fauna of the Botanic Gardens Workshops
With Glenis Lawler and Sue Schreiber
Nature is the world’s greatest designer. In this workshop, we move beyond the "big picture" to focus on the intricate patterns found in the details: the rhythmic spiral of a seed pod, the rugged texture of bark, and the delicate veins of a leaf.
Using graphite pencils, you will learn to translate these natural forms into a sophisticated study of shape and tone. To finish, we will introduce a single, strategic coloured pencil to the background. This subtle "lift" creates a modern, high-contrast effect that makes your monochromatic drawings pop off the page.
