Natural Abstraction: Dramatic Tree Trunks in Charcoal Workshop

Break away from traditional landscapes and zoom in on the raw power of the tree. This class focuses on the abstract shapes and muscular forms found in gnarled trunks and ancient bark.
Using the rich, expressive qualities of charcoal, you will learn to see the tree as a series of interlocking light and dark shapes. By stripping away the leaves and background, we create a high-impact, dramatic study that celebrates the "bones" of the forest. This is the perfect workshop for those who want to create bold, large-scale work with a contemporary edge.
